Job Role - Bricklayers

  • Bricklayers required for sites in the following locations:
    • Macclesfield
    • Stockport
    • Rochdale
    • Oldham
  • Wiggett Construction requires gangs of Bricklayers to work on our a new and exciting developments throughout the North West. Any size of gang/squad and any number of gangs/squads welcomed.
  • You must have a current CSCS card and experience of house building in a volume-driven environment is preferable.
  • Own public liability insurance required.
  • Excellent attention to detail whilst understanding the requirement to hit deadlines and working as part of a team, is essential.

Job Role - Labourers

Wiggett Construction requires labourers that will be responsible for carrying out all general duties as required by the Site Manager on a day to day basis.

Role Responsibility

The job role is mainly involved in servicing the needs of the development and responding to the instructions and requests of the Site Manager. The job by nature is totally varied and tasks would range from assisting in unloading deliveries to cleaning up the site canteen and staff welfare facilities, assisting in clearing properties prior to occupation, keeping the site tidy, keeping materials correctly stored and secure in designated areas including site compounds.

  • Carrying out all designated duties in a safe and responsible manner.
  • To advise the Site Manager when sub-contractors are leaving properties in an unacceptable condition following carrying out their own work and reporting on any damage to materials when being off-loaded.
  • Be aware of all safety requirements and report back to the Site Manager should sub-contractors fail to wear the correct PPE or act irresponsibly regarding other basic Health & Safety requirements.
  • From time to time, be required to undertake straightforward maintenance items in occupied properties and these should be undertaken in a clean, tidy, courteous, and responsible manner.
  • Site security, both in respect of individual units and the overall site generally. At all times comply with health and safety policies and procedures.

Job Role - Telehandler

As Telehandler you will be responsible for ensuring that all materials, either stored in the site compounds or designated area, are transported to the workplace, in accordance with site requirements and in a safe and responsible fashion.

Role Responsibility

  • Comply with health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Assist in ensuring that the correct materials are provided at the right time to the right workplace in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the needs of the sub-contractors are handled efficiently. Regularly liaising with the Site Manager to confirm the work demands are met.
  • Ensure that the plant under your control is properly serviced. Report to the Site Manager any repairs, breakdowns, incidents or deficiencies in the plant used.
  • In the event the truck may not be required or breakdowns occur you will act as a General Site Labourer responding to the requirements of the Site Manager to undertake various duties for the benefit of the development.
  • Report to the Site Manager any careless use of company materials by sub-contractors and any failure of sub-contractors to wear hard hats or act responsibly regarding other basic health & safety requirements.
  • Monitor waste segregation on site and ensure any sub-contractors who do not comply with waste management are notified to the Site Manager.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Certified Telehandler Driver with construction site experience.
  • Hold a current and valid Blue CPCS Card. Other card schemes may be acceptable, however these must be authorised by the Head of Health and Safety.
  • Ideally hold a current and valid Truss Placement and Training certificate. Training will be provided to assist in this procedure or to confirm and/or update existing experience.
  • When required, attend any additional training requirements that are either required by statute or arranged by the Company.
  • The role involves working at heights and the use of small hand tools, as directed by the Site Manager.
